STAFF 2018

We take the care and safety of our campers seriously and seek responsible, motivated, and creative individuals to join our team. We pride ourselves on providing a positive, respectful, and zany environment where our staff and campers can excel and feel comfortable with being themselves.

NEW PAID STAFF: Applicants must complete the online application and submit a resume with references.

    * Background checks are required for all new staff employees. Must be 17 years or older.

Counselor in Training (CIT)

9TH & 10TH graders, many of you will want to be a CIT…thinking about all the fun you have had as a camper…Please realize that although this would be one of the most fun jobs you will ever have, the focus of the fun shifts from you to them. Counselors are in a position to pass forward the thrill of summer to the younger generation. If accepted you will have fun on the job but you will be there to provide great experiences for our campers, first and foremost!

– Experience working with some of the best educators, counselors and role models for young people in the world.

– A head start towards “maybe” becoming a camp counselor at camps. Just being a CIT is not a guarantee to become a paid staff member but is an excellent way to prove your abilities.

– Letters of recommendation for a job well done and work experience towards future employment opportunities.

– A summer of memories that will last a lifetime.

    * All applications due by March 30th with formal letter of why “you” want to be a CIT. $150 for 1st year CITs. $75 for 2nd year CITs, interviews are held in April. Please email for any questions.

WEEK 6 2015

Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians! Below is some information regarding this week. Please check your email, Camp’s Facebook and website for weekly and daily information. and The camp’s theme day calendar can also be found online under “2015 Summer Themes”

Location: Wicomico Day School
1315 Old Ocean City Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804

Day Camp: 8:30am – 3:30pm

After Camp: 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Please pull up to the front entrance as our counselors will call your child(s) and assist them to your vehicle.

*Daily Activities will include Art, Wacky Science, Game Show, and Sports or Dance. All Daily Activities are tailored for each grade group. Special Activities / Festival Activities / All Camp Activities are a chance for every grade group to participate together and change depending on the theme.

– Camp’s own sports channel: ZSPN (Zany Sports Pancake Network) will host a show for the campers featuring all counselors in a sports challenge. Today, Shot of the day will have more significance as we try for the zaniest basketball shot

“Boxing” Day
– The entire camp will travel to the Elks pool for swimming, so please equip your camper with everything they will need for swimming: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. All campers are swim tested by Elks staff for ‘deep end’ access. Today, we will celebrate boxes: the versatility of cardboard, the origami folding of paper to create boxes for storage. Come dressed as you see fit or wear your favorite camp t-shirt.

Camp TALENT showcase
– It is no secret to our counselors that the campers here at Camp Odyssey have got talent! This is YOUR chance to shine. Your camper may choose to perform their favorite song, try out stand-up comedy or even choreograph a dance with a few friends. At 2:00 we will begin our show and parents are more than welcome to come and watch!

I Love Camp Festival
– The best of camp all wrapped into one day. As counselors, we love camp because we get to be a kid again and play while leading some of the area’s coolest kids (your campers). Campers say they love camp because they get to play exciting games, hang out with friends and just ‘be themselves’! We will have stations based around our favorite themed days.

To Be Continued
– Today is a day to cherish memories made over the summer as we conclude another fantastic summer at Wicomico Day School. However, today, we will get to sign a memory book and see our friends one more day. Thank you for a great summer! We hope to see you next year!
