February 13th at 11:30. Come to Poplar Hill Mansion for our Sweetheart Tea. Menu: Homemade Tomato Soup, Assorted tea sandwiches (Cucumber, Pimento Cheese, Italian Chicken Salad, and Cheesy Shrimp Canapes), Cherry White Chocolate Scones with jam and homemade clotted cream, Assorted Desserts (Brownies, Raspberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Eclairs), and Lady Gray Tea. RSVP early please, this is one of our most popular teas and it sells out quickly! Price is $22.00 per person. Door prizes!

March 20th at 7:00. Come join Poplar Hill Mansion for a fun St. Patrick’s Day party! Did you know that the first family of PHM, the Huston family, was Irish? Celebrate our Irish heritage with live Celtic Music and ballads by Michael O’Loughlin and Dave Kohut. Join in the fun, sing along, and enjoy some refreshments and libations. Be sure to wear your green! This event is part of our ongoing Music at the Mansion Series. The event is free, but donations are strongly encouraged with all proceeds go towards the preservation of Salisbury’s Oldest House, Poplar Hill Mansion, a 501(c)-3. April 2nd at 11:30. Come celebrate the changing of the seasons at our Spring Tea. Come out and enjoy warmer weather and flowers blooming at Poplar Hill Mansion. The menu will feature Soup, Assorted Tea Sandwiches, Homemade Scones, Assorted Desserts, and of course, Tea. Cost is $22.00 per person and everyone has a chance to win door prizes. RSVP early as seats are very limited.

May 7th at 11:30. Come to a special themed tea at Poplar Hill Mansion! It’s that time of year for the most famous horse race of the year, the Kentucky Derby. This special tea will have a menu with some of Kentucky’s and the South’s famous food featuring Soup, Assorted Tea Sandwiches, Homemade Scones, Assorted Desserts, and Sweet Tea Mint Juleps. Prize for best Derby Hat! Cost is $22.00 per person and everyone has a chance to win door prizes. RSVP early as seats are very limited.

May 16th from 10:00-1:00. Everyone collects something. Sometimes a lot of people collect the same thing, other times a collection is so unique that you may be the only person who collects that particular item. Have you ever wanted to show off you collection and let people know how knowledgeable you are about your interest? Poplar Hill wants you to come in and be a Community Curator. Participants are invited to set up tables inside and outside (weather permitting) and put their collection on display. During the event, the public can come in, see some of the amazing objects that their friends and neighbors collect, and learn about new topics. Maybe you’ll connect with someone who collects the same things. Maybe you’ll learn something new. Maybe this will spark a whole new interest for you. Come be a part of this special event. This is a free event to the public. If you would like to be a Community Curator, please RSVP. Youth participants are welcome and encougaed.

June 19th at 6:00. Poplar Hill Mansion is celebrating the 225th Anniversary of the foundation being laid this year! To help celbrate this milestone of Salisbury’s oldest house, we are having a special black tie gala to coincide with our annual festival. Details to be announced. Members will receive a special discount.

Poplar Hill Mansion Festival: Celebrating Over 200 Years of Salisbury History (CANCELED)
June 20 from 10:00-2:00. Come to the third annual award winning festival at Poplar Hill Mansion as we celebrate the Federal Period history of Salisbury! This year we are having a special 225th Anniversary celebration! The day long festival will include War of 1812 re-enactors, spinning demonstrations, live period music and dancing, 4-H crafts and archery demonstrations, and live sheep. There will also be a tented Market Square with vendors selling and/or demonstrating arts and trades reminiscent of the Federal Period. Food will be available for purchase. Also, help raise money for the Friends of Poplar Hill Mansion with our Locked in the Stocks event! It’s sure to be a fun filled day! Free tours of Poplar Hill Mansion will also be available throughout the day and volunteers will be wearing period dress. This is a FREE event with parking located in the Bethesda Methodist Church parking lot on the corner of Division St. and Isabella St. in the Newtown Neighborhood. Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses are available.

August 22nd at 7:00. Come join Poplar Hill Mansion and one of our fabulous local wineries for an evening of wine, cheese, and live music under the summer stars in our garden. What better way to relax after a long week and enjoy cool summer breezes than with a nice glass of your favorite, or soon to be favorite, chardonnay, merlot, moscato, or pinot noir? Cost to be determined. This event is for those 21 and older.

September 19th beginning at 10:00. Ahoy maties! Come celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day at Poplar Hill Mansion! We have a full day of events scheduled and bad puns to say! Start by bringing all your little pirates out in the morning from 10:00-12:00 for kids activities, games, and storytime. Want to know more about the local and true story of the Golden Age of pirates? Then you don’t want to miss the Pirates of the Delmarva Peninsula lecture being presented at 2:00, by our very own Curator, Sarah Meyers. Finally, that evening at 7:00, be sure to join us for a fun filled night at our Pirate Party. Put on your best pirate costume and have fun with us as we drink rum punch, play pirate games, listen to live music, go on a treasure hunt, walk the plank, a few other surprises, and of course talk like pirates! The kids activities and lecture are free an open to the public. The Pirate Party has a fee. No RSVP needed for any of the events. Call 410-749-1776 for more information.

October 30th at 7:00. Come to one of our most popular events of the year! Spend Halloween weekend in a real haunted house for a fun filled party at Poplar Hill Mansion! Wear costumes, see the house fully decorated in creepy elegance, enjoy some sweet treats and punch, and take part in some of our activities throughout the night, including dancing (the Halloween Limbo), games, and storytelling from Andy Nunez, paranormal expert extraordinaire and author of the Ghosts of the Eastern Shore series. Prize for Best Costume. Suggested donation of $5.00 per person at the door. No RSVP required.

December 6th from 1:00-4:00. Come to Poplar Hill Mansion and get in the holiday spirit. See the beautiful floral decorations by the Four Seasons Garden Club with this year’s theme of Home for the Holidays. Visit the second floor to see Christmas trees with over 1500 ornaments, the Nutcracker Nursery, and more. There will be silent auction items to help raise funds for the Friends of PHM. Please note that due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines will be followed with limited guests in the Mansion at a time and masks worn inside the Mansion. Home for the Holiday Tea Boxes with Gourmet Tea Pyramid, Scones and Cookies will be available for purchase for $10.00. Admission is free and includes a small cookie bag for each guest.

December 10th at 11:30. Come to our first ever Happy Holidays Tea! Celebrate the holiday season at Poplar Hill Mansion. The weather outside may be frightful, but the hot tea is so delightful! No matter what holiday tradition you celebrate, this is the tea for you! Featured menu will include: Potato Soup, Assorted Tea Sandwiches, Scones, Assorted Desserts, and Tea. Bring a friend to this fun event! We have all precautions in place to make your experience safe and fun at the same time. Cost is $22.00 per person. RSVP by December 4 as seats are very limited to make it safe for everybody. Masks will be required until seated and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

December 12th from 1:00-4:00. Why go wait in line at the mall to see Santa, when he will be at Poplar Hill Mansion! Bring your children or grandchildren to have peppermint tea, punch, and assorted sweets and have a visit and picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Photos mailed to your home address. See the house fully decorated for the Holiday Season. Cost: $5.00 per mailing address.
