Monday
Dr. Whoville
– Camp loves Dr. Suess (you can tell from the names of our groups) but Dr. Who is also very popular, especially with our older campers. Dress as either doctor, or wear your favorite camp t shirt.

Tuesday
Chunk & Splatter
– The entire camp will travel to the Elks pool for swimming, so please equip your camper with everything they will need for swimming: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. All campers are swim tested by Elks staff for ‘deep end’ access. During opening, campers will watch as counselors attempt to chunk and splatter expired watermelons. Studios will have chunk themed activities and games all day.

Wednesday
Lemon Lime
– Yellow and green are the colors for today.

Thursday
Treasure
– Finding treasure is a dream for many people. We will attempt to find treasure today as we search for buried gold and follow clues to discover where other treasure is hidden. In the afternoon, we will have a Special Activity, in which, the whole camp comes together outside for Treasure inspired games, activities and music.

Friday
Dino-Might Safari
– Safaris are cool, and dinosaurs are awesome. Having a safari with dinosaurs is just a good idea. Campers will have the chance to go on a safari today during festival and witness firsthand dinosaurs that were previously extinct and some are brand new! You may dress as your favorite dino or as an explorer.

*Please bring a lunch everyday!

Monday
Toga Toga Toga –
Ancient Roman dress inspired theme day. Today we will have a special activity in the afternoon, which means the entire camp comes together in the afternoon for themed activities and games based on Rome during the age of the coliseum, gladiators and all of the Caesars (the creators of the salad).

Tuesday
Heroes & Villans –
The entire camp will travel to the Elks pool for swimming, so please equip your camper with everything they will need for swimming: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. All campers are swim tested by Elks staff for ‘deep end’ access. For some, the hero is the center of the story and the most important person. For others, the villain is the real ‘hero’. Choose your side while camp has themed activities based around the ‘good guy / bad guy’ theme.

Wednesday
Pro-wrestling day –
Dress as your favorite pro-wrestler or create your own character. Camp has not hosted a pro-wrestling day in nearly a decade! Crazy time means that campers will have their choice of games in the afternoon as well as our “Shot of the day” basketball challenge. Note: there will not be any actual wrestling this day.

Thursday
Superstar –
Dress as what the term ‘superstar’ means to you! This may mean your favorite musician or athlete or even a legendary scientist or mathematician. *Teens will also be traveling to Jolly Rogers.

Friday
Mud Madness –
The quintessential theme day for Camp Odyssey for over 20 years! We will create a giant mud pit for all campers to enjoy playing in. There will be plenty of mud themed games and activities throughout the day, and plenty of non-mud activities during the festival. This is the day legends are born. A separate letter will go home Monday with specifics about how to prepare for this day and what will happen. Parents and guardians are invited to come watch.

Camp Odyssey

*Queen Nerd, Former Camp Director, Jamey Lee Griswold Landon who passed away in 2012. Former Camp Counselor Austin Wigley said, “It is amazing how much Jamey meant to me and made me a better person in the 3 years I worked with her. And I know she meant so much more to Camp Odyssey as a whole and to every camper in the program. Camp Odyssey was the best summer job I could have asked for in high school.”

Jamey had a welcoming smile, an infectious laugh, and bouts of goofiness that earned her the nickname Queen Nerd at her beloved Camp Odyssey. She believed her life’s purpose was to be such a terrific teacher that her students would forever love learning. She was endlessly inventive and energetic in the classroom. Jamey was a Maryland State Teacher of the Year and she was inspired to earn two Master’s degrees in education. As Captain of the Seagulls basketball team, she led Salisbury University to a state championship. In spite of decades of debilitating and life-threatening health issues, Jamey’s positive attitude remains a blessing.

Wednesday
Myth vs. Legend –
There is myth of Bigfoot and then there is the legend of The Sassasquash! This creature unique to camp is what happens when a sasquatch has an unfortunate incident with a squash. Special Activity in the afternoon with tons of Mythical and Legendary inspired games and challenges.

Monday

– Yes, this is on a Monday! Have you ever felt like your Monday routine was so, that you just did everything backwards? Well, today, everything will be backwards! The entire camp will travel to the water park. We will leave around 9:00 and return before 2:50 pm. Please have your child wear their swimsuit to camp (under their regular clothes, if you prefer), wear sunscreen, bring a towel, extra sunscreen to reapply, a change of clothes for afterward and a lunch, snack and lots of water. There is a snack stand at the water park, so your child may bring money with them for food.

A festival at the end of the day will be loaded with themed games and activities along with an “Uncle Sam” contest and ice pops for everyone.
